Abstract
In this research, some cationic dyes based on substituted benzothiazole were synthesized. These series of novel azacyanine dyes were afforded by reaction of 2-(1,3,3-trimethyle indoline-2-ylidene) acetaldehyde with 2- amino benzothiazole derivatives. Hence effect of substitution was surveyed by using donor, accepter and nutrition substituted benzothia-zole. The synthesized compounds absorb visible light in the region of 444-507 nm in ethanol in deep orange, and red color with high molar absorption coefficients (ε: (2.53 – 4.8) × 104 lmol−1.cm−1).
