Investigation of the magnetic and structural properties of Zinc cobalt ferrite nanoparticles CoxZn1-xFe2O4 synthesized by thermal process

In this research, by using thermal treatment method, the different concentrations of cobalt from 0 to 1 (x=0, 0.2, 0.4, 0.6, 08. and 1) were increased to zinc ferrite nanoparticles (CoxZn1-xFe2O4). The structure and magnetic properties of samples were characterized by techniques, i.e.,X-raydiffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR) and vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM) .The obtained results of XRD and FTIR of nanoparticles confirmed the cubic-spinel structure with space group Fd-3m. The observed images of TEM of nanoparticles showed spherical shape so that; they have a uniform distribution with average size of 40 nm. The vibrational modes of the Co-O, Zn-O and Fe-O were demonstrated by FTIR. The formed nanoparticles which were prepared by thermal treatment method exhibited different magnetic behaviors as when the concentration of cobalt was increased, magnetic behaviors of samples transferred from paramagnetic to ferromagnetic that were confirmed by using a vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM).
